Coca-Cola Rolls Out Unified Global Visual Identity System

The beverage giant is streamlining its brand assets—including the Spencerian script and Arden Square—to ensure global consistency

Atlanta, July 21, 2026 — Let’s be completely honest for a second. If you walk into a convenience store in Tokyo, London, or Bogota, you expect a can of Coca-Cola to look exactly the same.

But behind the scenes, managing a global brand across more than 200 markets is an absolute logistical nightmare.

Over the years, local marketing teams tweak things, designs drift, and suddenly, the “classic” look starts feeling a little disjointed. To reel this in, the beverage giant just announced a sweeping global visual identity system designed to bring some much-needed discipline back to its iconic red cans.

According to the announcement, this massive design overhaul isn’t about reinventing the wheel—it’s about turning up the volume on the assets they already own.

We are talking about the bold red and white palette, the famous Dynamic Ribbon, the Arden Square, and that unmistakable Spencerian script.

Instead of hiding these elements behind busy, localized campaigns, the new system forces them front and center across packaging, retail spaces, digital platforms, and vending equipment.

The rollout is already quietly making its way across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Interestingly, the most dramatic changes are reserved for the brand’s darling, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. The company is leaning hard into its heritage while adding very specific, modern visual cues to distinguish the sugar-free option from its high-calorie sibling. Here is what to look out for on shelves:

  • Larger Text: The “Zero Sugar” typography on the cans is getting a massive bump in size and contrast.
  • Black Dynamic Ribbon: A prominent black ribbon will slash across the cans to immediately signal the Zero Sugar variant.
  • Black Bottle Caps: PET plastic bottles will now feature black caps, giving a sharp visual break from the classic red cap.

To pull this off without triggering a massive headache for local bottlers and creative agencies, the company is launching a new internal “Brand Center.”

Alongside this, they are deploying a suite of tech-powered “Design Intelligence” tools.

Think of it as a cloud-based brand guard-dog that uses AI to ensure every billboard in Paris matches the exact specifications of a digital ad in Seoul.

It’s a massive push for brand governance at a scale we rarely see in the consumer packaged goods sector.

Inside Coca-Cola’s Design Intelligence Platform

At the end of the day, some might argue this is just corporate navel-gazing. A red can is a red can, right? Well, not when you’re dealing with a multi-billion dollar balance sheet.

In a world where consumers have a thousand different functional beverages screaming for their attention, looking unmistakably like yourself is the ultimate competitive advantage.

It’s a calculated return to the basics, and frankly, it’s about time.
