Brasstown Beef Launches E-Commerce Site and Greensboro-Area Home Delivery

The family-operated mountain farm will now deliver premium Angus beef within 90 miles of Greensboro

Must Try

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Let’s be brutally honest about the supermarket meat aisle. Most of the time, you have absolutely no idea where that shrink-wrapped steak actually came from. Supermarkets buy from whoever is cheapest on any given week, meaning your steak’s origin is basically a supply-chain mystery game.

But Brasstown Beef is trying to render that whole guessing game obsolete—at least if you live anywhere near the North Carolina Triad.

The family-operated cattle farm, nestled in the mountains of western North Carolina, just rolled out a total redesign of their web presence alongside a highly localized home delivery service.

If you are within 90 miles of Greensboro, you can now get their pasture-to-plate Angus beef dropped right on your doorstep.

It’s a direct-to-consumer (D2C) pivot that makes a ton of sense in a world where people are increasingly weirded out by industrialized food systems.

So, what’s actually on the delivery truck? They are shipping curated setups like the “Grill Master’s Box” and individual cuts like their Kansas City Strip.

They’ve also set up a recurring subscription model and “herd share” options for those who want to commit long-term.

  • Delivery Radius: 90 miles around Greensboro, NC (covering the Triad and surrounding communities).
  • Pickup Options: For folks outside the immediate delivery zone, they have pickup locations scattered across NC, SC, Georgia, and Florida.
  • The Philosophy: Focused strictly on cattle genetics and nutrition rather than blasting animals with growth hormones.

Frankly, I believe this is where the premium meat industry is headed anyway. “We’ve always believed great beef starts on the farm,” owner Steve Whitmire mentioned in the announcement, and it’s hard to argue with the logic.

Buying direct from a single-source farm isn’t just about snobbery; it’s about consistency. When you buy grocery store beef, you’re getting a lottery ticket. When you buy from a dedicated outfit like this, you actually know what you’re eating.

Yes, it’s going to cost more than the discount bin at your local megamart, but if you care about what you’re putting in your body, the premium is usually worth it.
