Montego Bay, Jamaica — Let’s be entirely honest: most hotel loyalty programs are a massive chore. You spend years hoarding arbitrary points like a digital dragon, only to discover that peak-season blackouts, hidden resort fees, and endless red tape make redeeming a single free night virtually impossible. It is frustrating, exhausting, and frankly, a bit of a scam. But the team behind the Caribbean’s premier all-inclusive resorts is attempting to pivot away from boring, faceless corporate math.
Starting July 1, 2026, Sandals and Beaches Resorts are officially pulling the plug on their long-running “Sandals Select Rewards” program (which has been around since 2008) and replacing it with the newly minted Island Insiders Club.
This isn’t just a cosmetic rebrand where they swap out the logo and call it a day. The entire structure of how users earn, spend, and experience perks is getting a significant overhaul.
The most important detail for existing members? Your current status and benefits are rolling over automatically. No resets. No losing your hard-earned progress. The updated structure introduces seven distinct loyalty tiers.
You start at Shell (which replaces the old “Select” tier) and climb your way through Coral, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, and Pearl, all the way up to the ultra-exclusive Ambassador level.

So, what does paying your dues actually get you? Rather than just giving you a generic bucket of points to stare at, the Island Insiders Club is leaning heavily into highly specific, almost ridiculously convenient perks.
For starters, members get a “Choice of Insider Reward“—a flexible credit you can blow on a massage at the Red Lane Spa or an off-resort excursion with Island Routes.
There is also a private online store called “The Insiders Shop” featuring limited-edition, artisan-crafted merchandise, and a dedicated Room Upgrade Hotline where members can call 30 days prior to their trip to secure up to 50% off a room upgrade.
| Loyalty Tier | Highlighted Perks & Benefits | Who It’s Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Shell (Entry) | 5,000 bonus points on first stay, member discounts | Newcomers and first-time guests |
| Coral to Emerald | Choice of Insider Reward credits, 20% off Manager’s Wine List | Semi-regular vacationers |
| EX & AWD (Diamond/Elite) | Searchable booking priority, custom experiences | Loyal brand enthusiasts |
| Ambassador (Top) | $200 laundry credit, VIP Concierge line, free stays | Serious road warriors and luxury purists |
If you manage to hit the top-tier Ambassador level, the perks get downright pampering—including a $200 laundry service credit so you don’t have to pack a heavy suitcase for longer stays.
And for the true die-hards, the program keeps its legendary milestone reward: a completely free, 7-night stay at any resort of your choice after you clock 70 paid nights.
Sure, seventy nights is a lot of time spent in a hammock, but for the brand’s cult-like following, it’s a target they hit surprisingly fast.

This emphasis on personal connection makes sense when you look at how the rebrand was developed.
Peter Menges, the SVP of Loyalty at Unique Vacations, Inc. (the worldwide representative for the resorts), revealed that they designed the program side-by-side with their actual guests through focus groups and surveys.
To prove the point, the new identity was first unveiled to their most loyal members during an exclusive “Step Inside Our Sandals” video call, where Executive Chairman Adam Stewart even teased a massive, upcoming physical redesign of three iconic Sandals resorts in Jamaica.
For those unfamiliar with the brands, Sandals operates 17 adults-only, ultra-luxury beachfront resorts across tropical havens like Jamaica, the Bahamas, Saint Lucia, and Antigua.
Meanwhile, Beaches Resorts acts as their family-friendly counterpart in Turks & Caicos and Jamaica, complete with dedicated kids’ camps, certified nannies, and a highly commendable Advanced Certified Autism Center (CAC) designation to make sure neurodivergent kids can travel safely.
At the end of the day, loyalty programs are about making you feel like a valued human being rather than a line item on a spreadsheet. By focusing on flexible spa credits, direct-line concierge support, and early access to room upgrades, the Island Insiders Club is making a very strong case for why you should keep booking your flights back to the islands.
You can sign up for the new program or check your updated status directly at sandals.com/islandinsidersclub. Your next beachside cocktail is waiting.
