Apple Unveils New Black Unity Apple Watch Band, Supporting Global Under-Resourced Communities

Cupertino, Calif., January 26, 2026 – As Black History Month approaches, Apple is once again making a statement through its iconic wearable.

Apple unveiled the new Apple Watch Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, a special-edition band designed to honor Black History Month and celebrate the “power of connection.”

This is a new accessory linked to Apple’s ongoing commitment to support organizations that inspire connection and promote creativity in under-resourced communities globally.

The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is available for order via the Apple Store online and in the Apple Store app, with availability in physical Apple Store locations, priced at $99 (U.S.).

Designed by Black creatives and allies at Apple, this band, along with previously released Black Unity bands, proudly showcases the colors of the Pan-African flag.

Its intricate design is created by weaving recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultrathin silicone threads using advanced precision-braiding machinery, resulting in a soft, textured, sweat- and water-resistant band.

On closer inspection, the multiple shades of red, green, and black lend it “added depth and vibrancy.”

Beyond the aesthetic, Apple is backing its message with tangible action. The company is providing grants to several key organizations, including Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México in Mexico City.

These grants are not new territory for Apple; they build upon a long-standing commitment to advancing economic, educational, and creative opportunities in communities globally.

This new band is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later, Apple Watch SE, and all Apple Watch Ultra models (with the 46mm band only).

It’s available in 42mm and 46mm case sizes, in band sizes 0-12, ensuring a wide range of fit for various users.

Apple is a global tech giant known for its innovative products like the iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch, and consistently leverages its platform to raise awareness and support for social causes.

This latest Black Unity initiative continues that tradition, offering consumers a way to express their solidarity while contributing to impactful programs.

In a market saturated with wearables, Apple continues to push thematic, purpose-driven accessories. The Black Unity collection has become an annual staple, not just as a fashion statement, but as a symbol of Apple’s dedication to diversity and inclusion.

The question for some might be, how much impact can a $99 watch band truly make? But for Apple, it’s about more than just a product; it’s about signaling values and directing resources to organizations on the ground.
