Stockholm, July 1, 2026 — Constellations aren’t built in a single launch, and in the volatile world of “New Space,” the real winner isn’t always the flashiest rocket—it’s the company that can deliver consistency.
Today, Danish nanosatellite pioneer GomSpace (Nasdaq: GOMX) proved that point yet again, signing a 2.2 million Euro (24.4 MSEK) contract with French maritime surveillance leader Unseenlabs.
The deal covers the delivery of two new 8U CubeSats slated for 2027, marking another steady brick in a wall of a partnership that dates back years.
This isn’t an experimental pilot program or a “wait-and-see” trial. This is a cold, calculated expansion. These two new birds will join an existing fleet that has been quietly growing through orders placed in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
By doubling down on GomSpace’s standard 8U platform, Unseenlabs is opting for “persistence”—a buzzword in the satellite industry that basically means they want their eyes in the sky to stay open without the hiccups of switching to unproven hardware.

The strategic logic here—at least from where I’m sitting—is all about the backlog.
For GomSpace, which operates its main manufacturing out of Aalborg, Denmark, securing these repetitive “batch” orders is the difference between a high-risk startup and a mature industrial player.
Oliver Schieve, VP of Satellite Systems at GomSpace, noted that this repeat business confirms that their focus on long-term reliability is “the right approach.”
Actually, it’s the only approach if you want to stay listed on the Nasdaq First North Premier.

Unseenlabs is chasing a very specific, and very lucrative, niche: finding ships that don’t want to be found. By monitoring radio frequency (RF) signals, they provide a layer of surveillance that traditional AIS (Automatic Identification System) tracking just can’t touch. To do that effectively, you need a high revisit rate, which requires more satellites in more orbits.
Jonathan Galic, CTO of Unseenlabs, was blunt about the benefit: staying on the same proven platform allows them to “reinforce further the persistence” of their services without reinventing the wheel every time a new contract is signed.
While 2.2 million Euros might seem like a rounding error in the world of Boeing or Lockheed, in the nanosatellite sector, it’s a substantial win.
It provides the fiscal oxygen GomSpace needs to meet its 2026 annual objectives and builds a healthy runway for 2027.
In a market where everyone is promising the “next big thing,” the real money is clearly in the “same reliable thing.” You can track the progress of the constellation expansion directly via GomSpace’s investor portal.
