Good news for those of us who appreciate a dash of digital nostalgia with our daily steps: Pikmin Bloom, the unique mobile game that turns your everyday walks into a journey of discovery with charming plant-like creatures, is now merging modern exercise with vintage gaming.
This month, players can dive into a brand-new in-game event centered around Game Pak Decor Pikmin, bringing a delightful touch of classic Nintendo to your strolls.
From May 1 at 12:00 a.m. through May 31 at 11:59 p.m. (local time), the game will be teeming with these miniature versions of iconic Nintendo game cartridges, carried by your favorite Pikmin.

Whether you’re a completionist aiming for the full set or just happy to stumble upon a few, every step you take brings you closer to discovering these eight distinct types of Game Pak Decor Pikmin. But how do you get your hands on them?
Getting Your Game Pak Decor Pikmin (and More!):
It’s all about the Event Challenge missions. Clear these special tasks, and you’ll earn random rewards, which can include:
- Seedlings that grow into the coveted Game Pak Decor Pikmin.
- Pixel-Art Flowers, a new collectible for the event.
- Flower petals and other helpful in-game items.

And for those who like guarantees, when the Big Flower at the center of the Event Challenge stage blooms, you’re ensured a Gold Seedling alongside your other random loot. Ready to commit to the grind for all eight types?
But wait, there’s more than just Game Paks. Beyond the main Event Challenges, additional missions are rolling out specifically focused on collecting those Pixel-Art Flowers. These side quests offer players a choice of rewards, allowing for a bit more strategic collecting:
- Event-inspired Mii costumes to deck out your avatar.
- Seedlings for Nintendo Consoles ’80–’95 Decor Pikmin, adding even more retro tech to your collection.
- Seedlings for Playing Card (Clubs and Joker) Decor Pikmin, another unique set to chase.
So, where do you find these all-important Pixel-Art Flowers? They can be earned through Event Challenge rewards, traditional flower planting during your walks, Mystery Boxes dropped from Brilliant Mushrooms (more on those in a moment), and even through select shop purchases.
Just remember: once May ends, these missions and the Pixel-Art Flowers will vanish, so get collecting!
Speaking of Brilliant Mushrooms, they play a key role in this event. During May, players will encounter Brilliant Mushrooms that drop Mystery Boxes filled with Pixel-Art Flowers and other goodies.
Here’s a pro tip: your newly acquired Game Pak Decor Pikmin, Nintendo Consoles ’80–’95 Decor Pikmin, and all Playing Card Decor Pikmin are extra effective against these particular mushrooms.
On select weekends, keep an eye out for Giant Brilliant Mushrooms, which promise even rarer Mystery Boxes. Team up with friends using the Mushroom Battle Bullhorn (up to three times per day on these weekends) to take them down!
Before you lace up your shoes and dive into this nostalgic adventure, ensure your Pikmin Bloom app is updated to the latest version (v143 or later) to see all the new Decor Pikmin correctly. As always, remember to stay aware of your surroundings while playing.
It’s a free-to-start game with optional in-game purchases, requiring a persistent internet connection and a compatible smartphone.
So, will this be the ultimate throwback event that gets you walking, or just another mission to add to the ever-growing list? Only your steps will tell.
