Big Blue Bubble to Launch Free ‘My Singing Monsters Karaoke’ on Steam This August

Big Blue Bubble brings its popular convention-floor demo to Steam, complete with custom chart importing and a cameo from rapper bbno$

LONDON, Ontario —Look, I didn’t have “My Singing Monsters karaoke spin-off featuring a Canadian rapper” on my gaming bingo card, but here we are. It seems Big Blue Bubble is planning to turn a goofy convention-floor demo into a full-fledged, free-to-play PC game on Steam.

The developer announced that My Singing Monsters Karaoke is officially launching this August. Instead of just breeding creatures to build passive background melodies, this spin-off actually puts you in direct control of the Monsters’ singing voices.

You’ll be managing the pitch and timing as they try to screech and rumble their way through classic tunes. Frankly, looking at the initial footage, it looks delightfully unhinged.

Instead of the usual clean, cute aesthetic, the developers went with an exaggerated, incredibly expressive new art and animation style.

It looks like they are pushing these poor creatures to their absolute physical limits just to hit a high note.

The game is launching with eight playable Monsters at the start, including fan favorites like Entbrat.

What’s wild is who they got to headline this thing. Canadian rapper and viral internet sensation bbno$ is apparently reprising his role as “bbliz$ard,” the Cold Island Legendary monster.

If you ever wanted to play a rhythm game where a cartoon monster drops bars with the voice of a platinum-selling hip-hop artist, well, your oddly specific wish has been granted.

Key Features at Launch:

  • 8 Playable Monsters: Each featuring entirely unique animations and brand-new, unheard audio tracks.
  • Pre-loaded Tracks: A curated library of classic My Singing Monsters music, completely re-imagined.
  • Fan Chart Importing: This is the big one. The game allows players to import custom charts from popular community rhythm game databases.
  • Zero Cost: Absolutely free on Steam. No hidden catch mentioned so far.

That last bullet point—the community chart import tool—is actually a massive deal. By letting players bring in their own files, Big Blue Bubble is essentially giving the game infinite replayability right out of the gate. It’s a smart nod to the incredibly active rhythm game community that thrives on custom content.

Big Blue Bubble has been doing this for over 15 years, and its flagship franchise has amassed over 180 million players across mobile platforms.

They know their audience. By partnering with parent company EG7 to publish this quirky PC sandbox, they are taking a low-risk, high-reward gamble on community goodwill.

Whether you want to try and score a perfect pitch rating or just deliberately mess up a song to watch the monsters pull ridiculous faces, it’s hard to argue with a price tag of zero dollars.

Keep an eye out for the Steam drop this August on the official My Singing Monsters Karaoke page.
