Miami, March 6, 2026 – Well, folks, the football gods have spoken, and they’ve laid out Inter Miami CF’s initial path for the Leagues Cup 2026.
If you thought last year was intense, buckle up – this one looks like a proper gauntlet right from the get-go!
The Leagues Cup Organizing Committee just pulled back the curtain on Phase One, and Messi and the gang are staring down a trio of formidable LIGA MX sides: Atlético de San Luis, CF Monterrey, and Club León. Talk about a warm welcome, right?
This whole shindig, the Leagues Cup 2026, is set to light up the calendar from August 4 through September 6. It’s not just a friendly kickabout either; we’re talking about 36 clubs – all 18 LIGA MX teams and 18 qualified MLS clubs – scrapping it out.
What’s particularly spicy this time around? Every single one of the 54 Phase One matches, plus the Quarterfinals, are locked in as LIGA MX versus MLS showdowns. This makes the tournament a cross-border bragging rights battle, plain and simple.
For the loyal Inter Miami faithful, those season ticket holders, listen up! You’re getting priority access to tickets for these sure-to-be-epic clashes.
Just a heads-up, though: you’ll be automatically charged for these Leagues Cup tickets unless you actively opt out.
So, keep an eye on your inbox, or you might find yourself with tickets (and a bill!) for games you weren’t quite planning on.
Want in on the action and secure your spot at the shiny Nu Stadium for all this drama? Becoming a Season Ticket member now seems like the play.
Inter Miami CF’s Leagues Cup 2026 Phase One Schedule is looking like this, all taking place at their home ground, Nu Stadium:
- Wednesday, August 5: Inter Miami CF vs. Atlético de San Luis
- Saturday, August 8: Inter Miami CF vs. CF Monterrey
- Wednesday, August 12: Inter Miami CF vs. Club León
Three matches, all against top-tier Mexican opposition, within a week and a half. That’s a brutal start, even for a squad as stacked as Miami’s. Can they maintain that legendary 2023 magic where they lifted the inaugural trophy? Remember, they reached the Final in 2025 after a Round of 16 exit in 2024.
Consistency, anyone? This tournament, sanctioned by Concacaf, isn’t just for glory either; it hands out three coveted spots in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup, with the winner cruising directly into the Round of 16.
That’s a serious prize on the line, paving the way for a shot at FIFA international club competitions.
The format, sticking to what they rolled out in 2025, looks pretty solid. It’s all about those consistent interleague dust-ups. After Phase One, which is a flurry of 54 MLS vs. LIGA MX games, they’ll create separate Leagues Cup standings for each league.
The top four from each — that’s eight teams total — will punch their ticket to the Knockout Rounds. And yes, they’ve guaranteed those MLS vs. LIGA MX matchups all the way through the Quarterfinals.
No easy outs, no avoiding the rivals. It’s exactly what the fans want, right? Meaningful competition and intense cross-border rivalries, which, let’s be honest, is what makes this whole thing a blast.
For those not making it to the Nu Stadium, don’t sweat it. You can catch all the Leagues Cup action on Apple TV in over 100 countries.
Plus, select matches will get linear broadcast treatment on TelevisaUnivision, FOX Sports, TSN, and RDS.
Game times and those extra broadcast details are still being ironed out, but the message is clear: football is coming, and it’s coming hard.
Inter Miami has history here; they won it all in 2023. Will 2026 be another year for the trophy cabinet, or will LIGA MX spoil the party early? Get ready to find out!
