“Roger That”: Arizona Launches Internet Program for Tribal Veterans

The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, Televeda, and the Navajo Nation have partnered to launch the “Roger That” Tribal Connectivity Project.

This initiative provides Starlink internet kits to Indigenous veterans across Arizona, enabling access to healthcare, peer support, and culturally aligned services.

The “Roger That” program addresses the disparity in internet access in rural tribal communities. The program has impacted the Gila River Indian Community, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, the San Carlos Apache Tribe, and the Navajo Nation.

Beyond connectivity, “Roger That” supports Televeda’s Hero’s Story Project, a VA-backed suicide prevention initiative. The Hero’s Story Project has Talking Circles with support and healing resources. Visit Televeda’s Hero’s Story Project.

Early results from the Hero’s Story Project show improvements in community well-being, with 100% of respondents feeling happier and more connected. Grants are being reviewed on a rolling basis.
