POLYVANTIS Powers Up with Solar Energy in Germany

WEITERSTADT, Germany – POLYVANTIS, a global materials company, has announced the commissioning of a 3.3 GWh solar energy park at its manufacturing location in Weiterstadt, Germany.

This initiative will significantly reduce the company’s carbon footprint, with an estimated reduction of 750 metric tons of COâ‚‚ annually – equivalent to powering over 900 households.

According to Reinhard Tag, EVP of Manufacturing for POLYVANTIS, “The installation of the solar park is an important step toward a resource-efficient future and underscores our commitment to innovating for the future.” The plant boasts an installed capacity of 3.6 MW and is expected to generate approximately 3.3 GWh of energy per year.

Located on POLYVANTIS’s grounds, the state-of-the-art solar plant will supply approximately 10% of the Weiterstadt site’s total electricity consumption. This marks a significant step towards sustainable electricity for the company’s manufacturing operations.

POLYVANTIS’s commissioning of the solar plant signifies just one part of its sustainability strategy. The company has plans for future projects that will further expand its uses of renewable energy sources.
