NEW YORK – Dutch technology company DuRoBo has unveiled its first product, Krono: an AI-powered ePaper focus hub, and launched a pre-campaign on Indiegogo.
This unique Android-based e-ink device blends functions of an e-reader, note-taker, and audio player into a single sleek package.
Designed with both aesthetics and functionality in mind, Krono features a distinctive, slightly chunky design with a mechanical touch. The device, which comes in black and white, features an axis on the back with breathing lights and a knob. Its UI incorporates a minimalist geometric style with occasional playful flashes, reinforcing its focus on simplicity and clarity.

According to DuRoBo, the Krono’s crowdfunding campaign highlights three main functionalities, as each function is powered by AI integration for improved performance and usability: read, record and listen.
Beyond being a typical e-reader, Krono offers a seamless portable reading experience for those who enjoy on-the-go reading and for those who enjoy leisure reading at home or just on the go. “Spark” is an AI-driven voice and text note-taking system. The other functionality, “Listen”, allows users to listen to audio/music content.
Powered by Android, the device enables users to download reading, podcast and music apps. Krono combines the comfort of E Ink with the versatility of an open operating system.
