Casio Celebrates 60 Years of Calculation with Style

TOKYOCasio, the company that revolutionized calculation, is celebrating 60 years of calculators with the release of special commemorative models.

The Japanese electronics giant announced the release of the MS-20UC-J series and the Comfy JT-200T calculator, each imbued with unique design philosophies, to mark this milestone.

The MS-20UC-J series, based on the already popular MS-20UC model, features three distinct designs showcasing traditional Japanese patterns: Asanoha Red, Seigaiha Blue, and Takekago White. These patterns have been cherished in Japan for centuries as symbols of good luck, blending cultural heritage with everyday functionality.

Alongside the MS-20UC-J series, Casio is introducing the Comfy JT-200T. This “design calculator” boasts a minimalist aesthetic with a strategically placed solar panel for optimal usability. It’s also manufactured with eco-friendly, scratch-resistant materials, emphasizing durability and sustainability. The design was developed through a re-examination of the fundamental elements of a calculator with long-term use in mind and will be sold regularly.

60th Anniversary

Casio’s calculator journey began in 1965 with the “001,” the world’s first calculator equipped with a seven-digit constant storage dial and memory function. This groundbreaking invention quickly gained popularity among business users and has contributed to Casio calculators being sold in over 100 countries.
